We have been working on getting this up and going now for the past few weeks - we have installed and tested the setup on a few cars now as well as dyno and street tested them. We have all of the parts in-house for the kits now, and we also have a 2-stage 'add-on' for controlling an additional set of water nozzles for those high-boost applications. Here's the details:

While water injection for internal combustion
engines is certainly old technology, it certainly should not be
overlooked as the benefits prove it to be a performance upgrade
very worthy of consideration.
The addition of atomized water to the combustion
process does wonders for those wanting to safely push the engine
harder, run more boost, and increase ignition timing advance. In
our testing we have seen as much as 50RWHP and 90ft/lbs of torque gained by the
use of water/alcohol injection while still running 93 octane pumpfuel and no specialized tuning!
An additional benefit of water injection is the steam cleaning effect
it has on the combustion chamber components - carbon deposits on
valves, valve seats, combustion chamber, and piston crown are almost
completely removed. This cleaning effect also improves compression
and power output. Improved throttle response, enhanced spoolup, and smoother power output are also advantages to expect with this setup. |
We have used our
time and resources to put together a complete kit that is specifically
designed for the 300ZXTT. Key benefits of this sytstem include:
- A Nissan OEM reservoir for the 2+2 non-turbo Z's is used in
this kit - this reservoir fits into the passenger side wheel-well
just behind the intecooler and its a direct bolt-in part which
includes a fill neck and cap. Fascia removal is NOT required for installation.
- A ShurFlo 100psi adjustable pressure pump provides reliable
pressure you need even for high boost applications and the adjustability
necessary to more finely tune your injected volume.
- Aquamist nozzles supplied with the kits are produced from stainless
steel for rust-free operation. 3 different sizes of nozzles are
available to choose from when ordering your kit to suit your car's
specific modifications.
- The pressure switch used to trigger the system features its
own built-in guage and user-adjustable knob for ease of use.
- High-volume inline filter can flow 60cfm of liquid and filter
all the way down to 40 microns particle size.
- Shurflo 125psi (max) adjustable accumulator tank ensures that
a constant nozzle pressure is maintained and pump-surging is eliminated.
- The direct-acting solenoid is produced from Delrin for corrosion
and problem-free functionality.
- All water lines and electrical components are supplied with
the kit and precut to length for a quick and hassle-free installation.
Electrical system is designed to prevent accidental injection
of water when engine is not running and is also fuse protected.

In a comparison on a twinturbo Z equipped with 530BB turbochargers and other supporting mods, the dynomometer results tell all. Blue lines represent 93octane pumpfuel without water injection, and the red lines represent 93 octane pump fuel with water injection and increased boost pressure.

Z1 Water Injection Kit: $595 Z1 Water Injection Kit 2-Stage Add-On For those who are running excesses of 25+psi of boost pressure, a secondary set of injector nozzles can be used to deliver even more as boost increases. By using an additional pressure switch set to a higher pressure than the 1st stage switch, the 2nd stage will remain dorment until the boost is increased.
